Verano / Summer

Con este calor y después de una mudanza y de unos meses de mucho trabajo, no puedo dejar de pensar en las vacaciones. Estoy deseando irme de viaje, pero también quiero disfrutar de mi casa nueva y de tiempo libre para descansar, estar con mi familia y realizar algunos proyectos caseros.

 

With this hot and after the move and a few months with so much work, I cannot stop thinking on holidays. I’m looking forward making a trip, but I also want to enjoy my new house and to have free time to rest, to be with my family and to make some home projects.

Me esperan unos silloncitos y una banqueta que tapizar, un cuadro de patchwork, un panel organizador con bolsillos para el coche, unos sillones de mimbre que restaurar,… Veremos hasta donde llego. Coser para casa es mucho más relajante y divertido que hacerlo como trabajo porque carece de responsabilidad, una gran diferencia, y sólo tienes que pensar en lo que a ti te gusta.

 

I have two little armchairs and a stool to upholster, a patchwork wall hanging, an organizing panel with pockets for the car, two wicker armchairs to restore… Let’s see what I can do. To sew for myself is much more relaxing and amusing than to do it as a job because lack responsibility makes a great difference and you just have to think what you like.

 

Otro plan para el verano son las manualidades con mi hija. Estamos deseando hacer cosas juntas y quiere que le enseñe a coser.

 

Another idea for the summer is making crafts with my daughter. We want to do things together and she wants me to teach her to sew.

También espero poner en práctica algunas ideas para el blog que he ido aparcando por falta de tiempo y otras especialmente veraniegas. Ya las iréis viendo, espero.

I also expect to put into practice some ideas for the blog that I have been shelving because the lack of time and other specially summery. You will see them soon, I hope.

Have you “craft plans” for this summer? A marvellous project is the one organized by three blogs (Freshly Pieced, Fresh Lemons Modern Quilts and Swim,Bike, Quilt): Summer Sampler Series. Tengo una relación de amor-odio con el verano: no me gusta nada el calor y odio la playa (ya sé que parece imposible, pero soy la excepción a la regla). En cambio, me encanta tener tiempo para gastar en “ir despacio”. Y ver como los demás lo hacen, todos estamos menos enfurruñados. El verano es color, niños, viajes, charlas,…

I have a love-hate relationship with summer: I don’t like hot weather at all and hate the beach (I know that it seems incredible, but I am the exception to the rule).
