A few weeks ago I suffered a lumbago attack and had to place a pillow on my work seat. As I see the pain doesn’t dissapear and the new “tenant” is going to stay for longer at the workshop, I have decided to make a cover for it. You already know that I love the vichy and the bows, so this has been the result. I’ll tell you how I’ve made it.
1- I have measured the pillow and added 2 cm. wide and long to the cover: as it is 11.3’’ x 16.8’’ I have cut the following pieces (adding a margin of 0.4’’):
And for the bow (adding a 0.4’’ margin):
2- The idea is that the back pieces are superposed. We don’t need to add buttons as the bow is on it. So start by whipstitching and ironing the hem of both pieces.
3- On the other hand, turn the inside out of the bow pieces and sew the long side of the longer piece and the longer side and one of the shorter of the small pieces. Then turn the right side out again and iron them.
4- Sew all the pieces as follows:
5- Finally, turn the inside out of the cover, put the pillow inside and place the bow around.
