Tutorial: guarda agujas circulares / Tutorial: circular needles case

Sigo con mi "set de labores de viaje", haciendo esta semana el guarda agujas circulares. Yo no uso agujas rectas, si vosotros sí, podéis hacerlo con este tutorial de un estuche que hice para mi hija. Sólo tenéis que adaptarlo al largo de las agujas.

I keep on with my "travel needlecrafts kit", and this week I made a case for circular needles. I don’t use straight needles, if you do, you can make it with this tutorial of pencil case I did for my daughter. You just have to adapt it to the length of the needles. 

Necesitamos tela, entretela, una cremallera y un broche de cierre.

We need fabric, interlining, a zipper and a locking clasp. 

1- Las medidas del guarda agujas es de 25 cm. x 28 cm. A un lado tiene una pieza con bolsillos para guardar las agujas de 25cm. x 8 cm. y al otro un bolsillo con cremallera para los cables y demás de 25 cm. x 13 cm. Se dobla por la mitad para cerrarlo.

1- The size of the needles case is 9.8’’ X 10.9’’. One side it has a piece of 9.8’’ X 10.9’’ with pockets to keep the needles. and the other side, a pocket with zipper of 9.8’’ X 5.1’’ for the cables and other things. It bends by half to close it.

Por tanto, cortamos en tela y con margen, dos piezas de 25 cm x 28 cm, otra de 8 cm x 25 cm y otra de 13 cm x 25 cm y en entretela las mismas piezas sin margen.

So, cut in fabric and with margin, two pieces of 9.8’’ X 10.9’’, another one of 3.1’’ x 9.8’’ and another one of 5.1’’ x 9.8’’ and the same pieces again without margin of interlining. 

2- En la pieza de 8 cm x 25 cm marcamos líneas para coser los bolsillos donde poner las agujas.

2- Mark the lines on the piece of 3.1’’ x 9.8’’ to sew the pockets for the needles. 

3- Si empleáis entretela adhesiva comenzamos pegándola con la plancha en todas las piezas de tela.  Si no, la cosemos con las telas más tarde. Después planchamos el dobladillo de los bolsillos.

3- If you use adhesive interlining stick it with the iron to all the pieces of fabric. If you don´t, sew it with the fabrics later. Next, iron the hem of the pockets.

4- Siguiendo el patrón, colocamos el bolsillo de las agujas en su lugar sobre la tela interior y pasamos un pespunte sobre las líneas que hemos dibujado. También ponemos el otro bolsillo en su lugar y cosemos la cremallera: primero a la pieza del bolsillo y después a la tela interior, de esta forma:

4- Following the pattern, place the pocket for the needles on its place on the inside fabric and sew a backstitch on the lines you draw previosly. Put also the other pocket on its place and sew the zipper: first to the piece of the pocket and then to the inside fabric, this way:

5- A continuación ponemos la pieza de tela exterior encarándola con la interior por el derecho y cosemos ambas piezas junto con los bolsillos laterales, dejando un hueco para darle la vuelta, tras lo cual planchamos bien los bordes y cerramos a punto escondido. Sólo queda poner el broche de cierre.

5- Next, place the outside fabric piece matching with the inside piece by the right side and sew both pieces together with side pockets, leaving an unstitched part to turn the inside out, after which iron well the edges and close using hidden stitch. And finally, add the locking clasp.
