Ya sabéis que me rijo por el calendario escolar, tanto profesionalmente como en mi vida personal. Así que toca hacer balance del año y este último ha sido muy especial en todos los sentidos.
As you already know, I‘m organized with the school calendar, professionally and in my personal life. So i’s time to do balance of the year and this has been very special in every sense.
Ha sido un año de grandes cambios: The Crafty Room ha comenzado a funcionar, despacio pero con paso seguro; Deshilachado ha crecido mucho; mi hija ha empezado la secundaria en un nuevo centro escolar y mi madre está todavía sufriendo (hace ya un año y dos meses) una enfermedad que nos ha cambiado la vida a todos, especialmente a ella, claro.
It has been a year of great changes: The Crafty Room has started working, slowly but steadily; Deshilachado has grown very much; my daughter has begun high school in a new center and my mother is still suffering (for a year and two months) a disease that has changed life to all of us, specially to her, of course.
Por todo ello estoy francamente muy cansada. Mi madre y mi hija son muy importantes para mi (¿para quién no?) y una fuente inagotable de alegrías y preocupaciones. Por suerte, mi madre está superando su enfermedad y mi hija ha terminado el curso con buenas notas y adaptándose bastante bien al instituto. Y entre los tres (mi marido, ella y yo) vamos haciendo frente a la adolescencia y disfrutando de nuevas experiencias.
For all this reasons, I am really tired. My mother and my daughter are very important for me and an inexhaustible source of happy moments and worries. Thankfully, my mother is overcoming her disease and my daughter has finished the year with good grades and she is adapting pretty well to high school. And between the three of us (my husband, she and I) are facing the adolescence and enjoying new experiences.
Deshilachado
En cuanto al trabajo es un no parar. Entre libros, papeles, agujas, telas, lanas… Tengo una suerte enorme de dedicarme a lo que me gusta, aunque necesito muchas más horas de las que tiene el día para llegar a todo. Lo mejor es que con Deshilachado estoy compartiendo mi pasión por el arte, la artesanía y las labores con personas de todo el mundo, una experiencia muy enriquecedora y que os agradezco muchísimo.
As for the work, it’s a non-stop. Books, papers, needles, fabrics, wools… I am lucky to do what I love, though I would need some extra hours on my day. The best thing is that with Deshilachado I’m sharing my passion for art, crafts and needlecrafts with people around the world, a very enriching experience that I thank you all so much.
Y con The Crafty Room hemos conseguido nuestro objetivo de crear un espacio físico donde nos reunimos profesionales y aficionados para compartir, aprender y disfrutar de esas mismas cosas y de buena compañía y tiempo para relajarnos, algo muy valioso que cada vez es más difícil de encontrar. Acciones urbanas y solidarias, meriendas, talleres,… ¡Hemos hecho tantas cosas este año!
And with The Crafty Room we have achived our goal of creating a physical space where meeting professionals and amateurs to share, learn and enjoy the same things and good company. And that’s a time to relax, what is very important and is becoming difficult to find. Urban and solidary actions, snacks, workshops… we have done so many things this year!
Deshilachado
En fin, ahora necesito un buen descanso, aunque en mi cabeza bullen mil ideas que quiero organizar en agosto. Y, por supuesto, las agujas siempre cerca. Los planes veraniegos para el blog como siempre: seguiré con las Puntadas y los miércoles os propondré manualidades para que los niños disfruten del verano de forma divertida y creativa. Porque si sois como yo, no podréis pasar un mes sin inspiración craft.
In brief, now I need a good rest, though in my head they are a thousand ideas I want to organize in August. And, certainly, the needles will always be nearby. The summer plans for the blog, as always: I will keep the craft inspiration on Mondays and Fridays and every Wednesday I will propose you some crafts so the children can enjoy a fun and creative summer. Because if you are like me, you won’t be able to spend a month with no craft inspiration.
