Este verano hemos viajado a León y Orense, pasando por varias capitales de Castilla León. Estaba deseando volver a León, de la que guardaba un vago pero muy buen recuerdo y, aunque fuimos hace unos años en Galicia, no estuvimos Orense. Hace unos meses leí en el periódico que en el interior de Orense hay multitud de iglesias y monasterios románicos amenazados por el abandono y la falta de cuidado. El Románico es uno de los estilos artísticos que más me gustan, así que para allí nos fuimos.
This summer we have travelled to Leon and Orense, passing some of the capitals of Castilla Leon. I’ve wanted to come back to Leon for a long time, I kept a great memory of this city. And, although we had been Galicia before, we hadn’t visited Orense. Some months ago I read in a newspaper that there are plenty of Romanesque churches and monasteries in the interior of Orense, threatened by the abandonment and lack of maintenance. Romanesque style is one of my favorites so, there we went.
No me olvido de las visitas craft: en Orense capital encontraréis varias mercerías en la calle Las Tiendas, muy fácil de encontrar porque da a la plaza mayor. Son antiguas, pequeñitas, pero llenas de cosas por descubrir; un verdadero placer.
I do not forget craft visits: in Orense city you can find some haberdasheries in Las Tiendas Street, very easy to find as it ends in the Plaza Mayor. They are old and small but full of things to discover, a real pleasure.
