La bastilla es un punto de cenefa que se puede emplear también como punto de relleno para lograr dibujos geométricos. Se borda de derecha a izquierda con una aguja de punta roma y es muy habitual utilizar hilos de diferente color.
Laced running stitch is a border stitch but it can be used like filling stitch to obtain geometric drawings. It is embroidered from left to right side with a tapestry needle and it is very normal to use threads of different colors.
Se comienza realizando un punto recto o hilván.
Start making a running stitch.
Después realizamos la bastilla en sí. Hay muchas posibilidades, pero básicamente tenemos tres:
Next make the lace running stitch. There are many posibilities, but the most usual are three:
Bastilla de cordón / Whipped running stitch
Deslizamos la aguja por debajo de cada punto de arriba abajo llevando cuidado de no perforar la tela.
Slide the needle under the thread from top to bottom, taking care not to pierce the fabric.
Bastilla con adorno / Laced running stitch
Pasamos la aguja a través de las puntadas, una desde arriba y otra desde abajo, sin perforar la tela.
Lace the thread up through one stitch and down through the next. Do not pierce the fabric.
Bastilla doble con adorno / Double laced running stitch
Bordamos dos hileras de punto recto alineados unos encima de otros. Pasamos la aguja como en el caso anterior pero, colocando la aguja verticalmente, atravesamos las dos líneas de hilván a la vez.
Embroider two aligned rows of running stitch. Push the needle as in the previous case but, placing the needle vertically, go through both rows simultaneously.
En todos los casos, en el primer y en el último punto atravesamos la tela con la aguja por detrás del centro del primer o el último hilván respectivamente.
In all cases, in the first and in the last stitch, pierce the fabric with the needle through the back of the center of the first or the last running stitch, respectively.
