Escuela de Patchwork: consejos para principiantes / Patchwork School: advices for beginners

 
Cuando llevas tiempo dedicándote a una labor cuesta ponerse en el lugar de quien no sabe nada sobre ella, pero a mi escuela, The Crafty Room, llegan personas preguntando por donde empezar. ¿Qué hacer entonces? Aquí van unas ideas.

 

When you have been dedicating for long to a neddlecraft, it is difficult to put in the place of those who know nothing about it. But many people come to my school, The Crafty Room, asking where to start. Here you have some tips.
 
 
1. Apúntate a clases. Puedes aprender mucho de la experiencia de las profesoras y es una buena toma de contacto con el patchwork porque sabrán guiarte.

 

1. Join a class. You can learn a lot from the experience of the teachers and it’s a good first contact with patchwork because they will be able to guide you.
 
 
2. Usa herramientas y materiales adecuados. Compra buenas telas, hilos, reglas, herramientas de corte y una máquina de coser de calidad. Agradecerás haberlo hecho.

 

2. Use the right tools and materials. Buy good fabrics, threads, rulers, cutting tools, and a quality sewing machine. You will be glad you did it.

 

3– Comienza con proyectos sencillos. Aprender cómo hacer un quilt sencillo te enseñará las técnicas esenciales que necesitarás para grandes trabajos.

 

3. Start with easy projects. Learning how to make a simple quilt will teach you the essential skills you’ll need for bigger works.

 

4– Únete a una asociación o grupo de patchwork. Sus miembros estarán encantados de aconsejarte, darte la información que necesites y ponerte al día. Además, compartir tu afición hace que la disfrutes más.

4. Join a patchwork guild. Their members will be happy to advise you, give you information and catch up. Furthermore, share your interest makes you enjoy it much more.
