San Petersburgo es una preciosa ciudad monumental y turística, lo que hace que el carácter de sus habitantes sea un poco más alegre y abierto que el de los moscovitas. A pesar de ser la segunda ciudad de Rusia, su centro histórico no es muy grande, así que se puede conocer y disfrutar con tranquilos paseos entre sus canales.
Saint Petersburg is a precious, monumental and tourist city, which makes its inhabitants a little more cheerful and open than the Muscovites. In spite of being the second city of Russia, its historical center is not very big, so it is possible to visit and enjoy with pleasant walks thorugh its canals.

El Museo del Hermitage es visita obligada no sólo por las obras que alberga, ya que el edificio, antiguo palacio de Catalina la Grande, es majestuoso. La colección de arte impresionista es una maravilla.
The Hermitage Museum is an obligatory visit not only because the works or art, but also because the building, the old palace of Catherine the Great, is majestic. The collection of impressionist art is wonderful.
La antigua fábrica Singer es ahora una librería, pero está muy bien conservada. Allí encontré, en la sección de manualidades, hilos de bordar de marcas rusas a precios fantásticos y bastante especiales: seda, lana muy fina,… Ya os contaré que tal son.
Singer old factory is now a bookshop, but it is very well preserved. There I found, at the crafts section, embroidery threads of Russian brands at fantastic prices and pretty special: silk, very thin wool… I will tell you about them soon.
En la misma calle, la Avda. Nevsky, hay un enorme centro comercial, Gostiny Dvor, donde hay una pequeña mercería llena de tesoros.

El Palacio de Catalina la Grande está a 25 km. de San Petersburgo, pero merece la pena una visita. Nosotros fuimos en un destartalado autobús de línea, una divertida experiencia.
Catherine Palace is about 25 km from Saint Petersburg, but it worths a visit. We went there on a beat-up bus, a funny experience.
