Tutorial: alfiletero / Pincushion tutorial

A month ago I bought some wooden bases to make pincushions because in my school, The Crafty Room, we usually lose many needles inside them. As I have lots of work I have decided to make a traditional and very easy-to-make model.

We need fabric, polyester filling, a large button, thick thread and the wooden base.

1- Let’s start by drawing a circle of the size of the base and make a basting stitch at 1.2’’ from it. Next, pleat the basting and fill with polyester filling, give a rounded to it about the size of the wooden base and fix it with a few stitches.

2-Then wrap with the thread to shape it, sew the button pressing the piece from the centre and stick it with silicone to the base.

Ya lo tenemos. ¿Fácil, verdad?

Ready. Easy, isn’t it?
