Aprovechando unos días de fiesta hemos hecho una escapada a Budapest, la monumental capital de Hungría, que me ha enamorado: por mucho que te hayan contado, resulta impresionante el paisaje del Danubio entre Buda y Pest.
During some days of holidays, we have made a short trip to Budapest, the monumental capital city of Hungary, and I loved it; although it is something known, the view of the Danube between Buda and Pest is amazing.
En Buda se encuentra la zona más antigua de la ciudad, con el castillo, la Iglesia de Matías y el Bastión de los Pescadores, en el que se puede disfrutar de unas vistas magníficas de la ciudad.
In Buda is the older area of the city, with the castle, Matías’s Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, where is possible to enjoy some fabulous views of the city.

Merece la pena ir de Buda a Pest o de Pest a Buda caminando, cruzando por el Puente de las Cadenas, el más antiguo y famoso de la ciudad.
It is worth walking from Buda to Pest or from Pest to Buda, crossing the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, the oldest and most famous in the city.

En Pest hay que visitar el Parlamento, un edificio espectacular tanto por dentro como por fuera. Nosotros hicimos una visita guiada que nos encantó porque la guía nos relató resumidamente la historia de Hungría mientras nos describía el propio parlamento.
In Pest you must visit the Parliament, a spectacular building, both inside and outside. We had a guided tour and it was great because the guide told us the outlines of Hungary’s history while she described the own parliament.

La Basílica de San Esteban, la Gran Sinagoga de la Calle Dohány y el Mercado Central son otros lugares imprescindibles.

El Mercado Central de Budapest es realmente bonito. En la planta de arriba encontraréis muchos puestos de recuerdos, al igual que en toda la ciudad.
Budapest Central Market Hall is really beautiful. On the top floor you will find many souvenir stalls, as in the rest of the city.

En Pest abundan el Art Decó y el Art Nouveau. Para disfrutarlos basta con pasear por sus calles, especialmente por la Avenida Andrássy, y acercarse al Museo de Artes Aplicadas, que se encuentra en un original edificio que mezcla estilo morisco e indio, entre otros.
In Pest, Art Decó and Art nouveau abound. Just have to walk around its streets to enjoy them, specially along Andrássy Avenue, and get to the Museum of Applied Arts, placed in an original building that mixes Moorish and Indian style, among others.
Y no dejéis de hacer un recorrido nocturno por los márgenes del río.
And do not forget to walk at night along the banks of the Danube.
