Lo último que he hecho II. Chales. / My last creations II. Shawls.

 

La semana pasada os dije que quería dedicar una sola entrada a dos de las labores que he hecho en los últimos meses. Se trata de dos chales, uno de punto y otro de ganchillo.

 

Last week I told you that I wanted to dedicate just an only post to two of the needlecrafts that I have made last months: two  shawls, one crocheted and another one knitted.

 

El de ganchillo es éste, un chal de calaveras que tejí en México. Muy apropiado, ¿verdad?, pero no lo escogí conscientemente sino que, como siempre, decidí a última hora qué llevarme para pasar las horas de avión y autobús del viaje. Últimamente opto por el ganchillo porque por ahora no me han quitado las agujas que llevo en el bolso cuando paso por el control de los aeropuertos.

 

This is the crocheted one, a shawl of skulls that I crocheted in Mexico. Very appropriate, isn’t it?, but I did not choose it consciously but, as I always do, I decided at the last moment what to take with me to spend the time during the hours on buses and planes on my trip. Lately I opt for the crochet because for now I have been able to keep my needles at the airport control.

 

Lo tenía en mi lista de proyectos pendientes desde hace dos o tres años, cuando una amiga me enseñó el suyo, que estaba tejiendo en ese momento. El patrón es de Kungen & Majkis, que publicó el patrón gratuito en sueco y en inglés. Si lo preferís, las chicas de A Punto lo tradujeron al español.

 

It had it in my list of pending projects for two or three years, when a friend showed me hers, which she  was crocheting at that moment. The pattern is by Kungen & Majkis, who published it in Swedish and English for free. If you prefer, the girls from A Punto translated it to Spanish.

 

Mi amiga me advirtió que había cambiado alguna cosa del patrón y me pasó sus modificaciones. Aún así me costó bastante aclararme porque es un patrón un tanto difícil y tuve que estudiarlo a fondo y volver a redactarlo yo misma. Lo he tejido con Malabrigo Lace, mi lana favorita “del mundo mundial”.

 

My friend warned me that she had changed some things of the pattern and told me her changes. Nonetheless it was pretty difficult to me to understand because it is a rather complicated pattern and I had to study in depth and redraft it myself. I have crocheted it with Malabrigo Lace, my favorite yarn.

El chal de punto es éste, Springtime Bandit, de Kate Gagnon Osborn. También el patrón es gratuito, podéis descargarlo en el enlace. Aunque no es tan llamativo como el otro, es realmente bonito y elegante. He utilizado la Rowan Fine Art, una mezcla de merino, mohair y seda que me ha encantado.

This is the knitted shawl, Springtime Bandit, by Kate Gagnon Osborn. The pattern is free, you it may download on the link. Though it is not so showy as the other one, it is really nice and charm. I have used Rowan Fine Art, a mix of merino, mohair and silk that I have loved.

El punto me resulta un poco más complicado que el ganchillo, pero me gusta más, sobre todo los patrones  de calados. Me encanta seguir un patrón complejo, mientras que el punto de jersey me aburre muchísimo. ¿Qué le voy a hacer? 🙂

Knitting is a bit more complicated for me than crocheting, but I like it more, especially the lace patterns. I really like following a complex pattern, whereas stockinette stitch bores me so much. What can I do? 🙂

En mi viaje a Budapest hice otro chal de ganchillo, pero me faltó hilo y, como usé bambú pesaba mucho, así que lo he deshecho. Pero el patrón, Unchained shawl de Jessie Rayot, me gusta y lo voy a repetir. De todas formas hice fotos porque se veía bonito.

During my trip to Budapest I made another crocheted shawl, but I had some thread left and, as I used bamboo thread it was very heavy, so I unpicked  it. But I like the pattern, Unchained shawl, by Jessie Rayot, and I am going to repeat it. Anyway I took some photos because it looked nice.
