Jane Austen

 

Este verano decidí sumergirme en la literatura de Jane Austen y he leído toda su obra, incluidos los divertidos relatos que escribió siendo casi una niña. Hace años leí “Emma” y “Orgullo y prejuicio” pero creo que ahora he disfrutado mucho más. Aunque se le identifica con la novela romántica si os animáis con sus libros veréis que van más allá, son un tesoro para los amantes de la lectura: descubriréis su inteligencia, fina ironía y feminismo, una estupenda descripción de las costumbres de la época y un uso del lenguaje excepcional.

 

Last summer I decided to immerse myself in Jane Austen’s literature and I have read all her work, included the funny stories she wrote when she was just a young girl. Years ago I read “Emma” and “Pride and Prejudice” but I think this time I have enjoyed them much more. Though she is identified with romantic literature, if you read one of her books, you will see that they go beyond; they are a treasure for book lovers: you will discover her intelligence, refined irony and feminism, a marvellous description of the customs of the time and an exceptional use of language.

 

Inspirada por sus libros y convertida en una experta en tipos de carruajes, usos sociales de la Regencia y demás, me he animado a buscar labores y manualidades inspirados en Jane Austen.
